Think together
Explore product and service ideas, question assumptions and uncover alternatives. Define what needs to be built, for whom, and why.
Technology & product development for equity
Turn your domain knowledge into a product people can use. TechAccel contributes ideas, engineering and technical leadership in return for equity in your startup.
From the first brainstorming session to a working product—and beyond.
A technology team within your startup
Early-stage founders often have deep market knowledge but limited resources to build and maintain the technology. TechAccel brings the development capability into the venture, with a shared stake in its progress.
Explore product and service ideas, question assumptions and uncover alternatives. Define what needs to be built, for whom, and why.
Develop the proof of concept and initial product. Connect the software, electronics and infrastructure needed to make the idea work.
Provide technical direction, maintenance and agreed development support as the business learns from real customers. A typical engagement runs for around 18 months.
More than a development assignment
Ask the basic questions. Explore the difficult ones. Get an honest technical perspective while you build your business.
Architecture, technical decisions and development priorities, with a TechAccel technologist acting as your part-time CTO.
Brainstorm with people who can connect ideas across disciplines, suggest alternatives and translate possibilities into practical work.
Separate essential work from distractions. Keep development aligned with customer needs as the venture evolves.
Draw on specialist developers, testers and professional connections. Advisory and workspace needs can be discussed as part of the engagement.
Engineering across disciplines
Our experience spans applications, communications, embedded systems and the infrastructure beneath them. We look at the complete product, including how its parts work together.
Web applications, Android and iOS apps, Windows applications, CRM and reporting systems.
Broadband, Wi-Fi, VoIP, hosted IVR, messaging middleware and communication APIs.
Firmware, hardware design, IoT, power electronics and integrated devices.
Linux internals, server components, high-volume queues, caching and database systems.
Statistical analysis, applied mathematics, artificial intelligence and data-intensive applications.
Compiler and interpreter design, scripting languages, API design and technology process reengineering.
Many products combine several of these disciplines. Tell us about the problem you want to solve.
Who we work with
We look for founders who bring experience, commitment and a clear role in taking the venture forward.

Our story
“I simply wish to continue the journey in a more structured manner.”
TechAccel grew out of Anil's work with entrepreneurs who had ideas and domain knowledge, but could not carry the full cost of technology development.
From 2014, that work drew on a network of freelance technologists, developers and testers. Projects brought together specialists as required, creating a practical way to work across disciplines.
The TechAccel concept, documented in 2018, gave this approach a structure: select promising ventures, contribute development and technical leadership, and share in the business through equity.
Today, TechAccel is part of Star Video. It brings that same curiosity and hands-on engineering approach to founders building their next product or service.

A few useful answers
Our primary contribution is technology development, product thinking and technical leadership. We generally receive equity for that contribution. The arrangement is discussed for each venture.
Yes. We participate in brainstorming and help explore product or service ideas. Bring your domain knowledge, the customer problem and your initial thinking.
The original programme envisages around 18 months of development and support. The actual duration, deliverables and maintenance responsibilities are agreed for the venture.
No. Founders need resources for activities outside the agreed TechAccel contribution. We discuss development scope and any other project costs before starting.
We can help develop a proof of concept and explain the technology behind the venture. Participation in a pitch can be discussed as part of our involvement.
There is no standard percentage published here. It depends on the agreed contribution, development scope, stage of the venture and responsibilities of both teams.
The TechAccel model includes access to a professional network and business advisory input. We discuss which expertise is relevant and available for your venture during selection.
